The Borgarfjörður fjord is known as a location of striking and majestic natural beauty in the western regions of Iceland. This territory is rich in history and folklore, believed by some to be the location of the castle of the Queen of Elves. Furthermore, it is renowned for its extraordinarily beautiful hiking trails, so beloved by nature enthusiasts that many cozy hiking huts have been erected for explorers to relax in as they wander along. We can’t imagine a better way to explore these trails than on the backs of one of the world’s most lovable and durable horse breeds, the Icelandic horse.
For approximately ninety minutes, you will explore the rugged lava fields, lush farmlands, and majestic glacial rivers that comprise the beautiful Borgarfjörður region. Included in your session is a preparatory horseback riding lesson, so you can feel confident and comfortable with your equine companion.
